some rough / cleaned up animation I worked on this weekend. I modelled and animated the pretty basic 3d in the background, too. probably gonna move the dude in the bottom left or the face on the ramp, feels like it's a bit of a weird composition at the moment. still a few things to tweak but i'm happy with the bulk of it.

 sorry about the huge gifs.

sorry, i know i keep posting bits of this as opposed to actual drawings but i'm trying to get back into posting at least SOMETHING every day. this one was another good test of my use of IK rigging. also how difficult having characters pick up / put down things can be (a fact I remember from watching the developer commentary of Jak 3). More actual drawings coming soon.

some animation from a music vid I'm working on with Nicos Livesey. I finally taught myself how to do basic IK rigging in 3ds! We're doing pretty much the whole animation at 8fps which may be a bit of a mindfuck to watch but it's fun trying to get expression and speed out of such a chuggy framerate.

Steampunk Zebedee I modelled in 3dsmax as an excercise (based on this drawing I did here). It's got 710 polygons so I doubt it qualifies for low-poly but I wanted that aesthetic. The unwrap could have been better - you can see on the pipes coming out of the body that the pixels are distorted, and a few areas seem to vary in resolution, which I think is a bit ugly - but overall I'm pleased with it. The modelling took me an hour or two and the unwrap/texturing took me as long again.
